Test Preparation

Parallax offers students a broad range of elite tutoring and test prep services, including individual and classroom lessons covering standardized tests (LSAT, GMAT, GRE, SAT, ACT, etc.) as well as high school and college mathematics and physics.

Services are flexible and are tailored to the needs of the student.

All individual tutoring is provided by owner and expert instructor Anthony Ritz, and is most often conducted in two-hour sessions in quiet public spaces (coffee shops, etc.) in and around Dupont Circle.

Admissions Essay Consulting

After working for months or years to make sure your grades and test scores are as competitive as they can be, it’s important to make sure your admissions essay is more than just an afterthought.

Admissions counselors at college and graduate school have to get through dozens of applicants a day, hundreds a week and thousands every month. Grades and test scores are just the first step. In a sea of high achievers, you need to stand out. A compelling essay can make all the difference.

At Parallax Test Prep, we offer assistance with all stages of the writing process. Are you stuck on where to start? We’ll sit with you and help you come up with an idea that will tell your unique story in the most compelling way possible. Have you gotten through the first draft, but it’s not fitting together right and you need some direction? We have years of experience helping students turn their stories from something muddled into something amazing.

Our chief writing instructor is Matthew S. Schwartz, winner of the national Edward R. Murrow Award for feature reporting. Schwartz is a professional journalist and a graduate of the Georgetown University Law Center. He knows what makes a good story, and he can help you tell yours.

Most students only need two or three sessions to complete a finished and polished essay. Contact us today with questions, or to set up an appointment! Hurry — spaces are filling up fast.
